There are countless elements in a Template or on a Page which you can define by using colors: texts, backgrounds, margins, shadows, etc.
In any case, you can open the Color window and use the many options available to obtain the exact color you want. In any case, if you need a particular color, which maybe isn't available in the standard color palette, you can use a very useful tool: the Eyedropper.
Let's see what you can do on the Color window.
Choose a precise color
The easiest way to choose a color is to visually identify it on the standard color palette and select it. If you need a specific color which you know the HEX (hexadecimal) or the RGB code of, you can identify it more precisely.
- Open the Color window.
- Click on the reported HEX code and enter the one corresponding to the color you want, then press ENTER to confirm. You can use both the short (ex: #fff) and the standard notation (ex: #fafafa).
- Similarly, you can click on the R (Red) G (Green) B (Blue) codes and type in the ones you need.
Set the opacity
For many template elements and page contents, you can set a certain degree of opacity to the selected color, which makes it more or less transparent.
- Open the Color window.
- Act directly on the slider of the Opacity option to adjust its percentage.
- Alternatively, click on the number that indicates the percentage of opacity applied and change it by writing the desired percentage.
#tip - You can set the HEX and RGB codes on top of the Opacity value also by clicking on it and using the mouse wheel or the arrow keys. If you press CTRL when using the arrow buttons you can increase the values by 10, instead of 1.
Use the Eyedropper
To "capture" the exact color of any element you see on your monitor, you can use a very useful tool: the Eyedropper.
- Open the Color window.
- Click on the eyedropper icon in the lower right corner and hold down to activate the tool.
- While holding, drag the Eyedropper out of the editor and place it on the element whose color you wish to capture-you will see the selected color appear in the Eyedropper box.
- Release the mouse button and the color ill be automatically saved in the palette among the last colors used.
