Using PayPal Commerce Platform, with a single account you will be able to accept direct payments via credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express), debit cards and stored-value cards, via PayPal, as well as other localized payment methods.
However, only the countries for which this service has been activated can manage direct payments via credit card: as far as the other countries are concerned, it is still possible to receive payments via credit card, but they will be managed with the standard method.
#tip - Countries. Direct Payments with Credit Card is currently available for the following Countries: US, CA, AU, UK, FR, IT, ES, DE. These are joined by the following European nations:: AT, BE, BG, CY, CZ, DK, EE, FI, GR, HU, IE, LI, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SK, SI, SE.
Direct Payments via Credit Card
If you find yourself in a country for which this service isn't available yet, during the guided procedure to connect your e-commerce to your PayPal account (see: How to activate and use the PayPal Commerce Platform payment method) you may be asked to confirm your e-mail address and possibly complete your PayPal profile, so to be able to receive payments via credit card for more than €500.
In this case, the payment options will be displayed as reported in the image below: next to the buttons for PayPal and other payment systems the customer will find the fields to report the details for paying with a credit card.
Standard Payments via Credit Card
Alternatively, the credit card payments are managed according to the standard method. This means that the payment options will be displayed as reported in the image below: apart from the buttons for PayPal and other payment systems the customer will find the button to process the payment via credit card. By clicking on this button a form is shown which needs to be filled out in order to complete the payment.
