WebSite X5 License. How do you install the program on multiple computers?

You may want to use WebSite X5 both on your desktop computer and your laptop, or you may need to make the program available to multiple people working within the same company.

Before installing the program on another computer, it is important to distinguish between workstations and users: the number of workstations indicates how many computers the software can be installed on, while the number of users indicates how many people are allowed to use it.

Let's see what each WebSite X5 plan allows, how to install the program on another computer, and how to transfer the Projects you want to work on.

How many computers can WebSite X5 be installed on?

The number of available installations depends on the WebSite X5 plan you have purchased:

With WebSite X5 Evo and Pro, the same person can install the program, for example, on both a desktop computer and a laptop. However, the license remains assigned to a single user and cannot be shared between two different people.

WebSite X5 Agency, on the other hand, allows installation on up to 10 workstations and simultaneous use by up to 5 users.

How to install WebSite X5 on a second computer

If your plan allows installation on two or more workstations, you can install the program directly from your account:

• On the second computer, sign in to your WebSite X5 Help Center account using the email address and password associated with your license.
• Open your Profile and go to My Licenses > My Downloads.
• Download the installation file for the WebSite X5 edition associated with your license.
• Double-click the downloaded .EXE file and follow the installation wizard to complete the setup.
• When prompted to activate the software, enter your License Key. If you cannot remember it, you can always retrieve it from the My Licenses section of your account.
• Complete the activation using the same email address and password you used to register the license on the first computer.

You need an Internet connection to download and activate WebSite X5.

When do you need WebSite X5 Agency or a multi-license?

WebSite X5 Evo and Pro licenses are designed for a single user, even if the software is installed on two different computers.

If multiple people need to work with WebSite X5, you can consider one of the following options:

• WebSite X5 Agency, if up to 5 users need to use the software, including simultaneously, on up to 10 workstations;
• a custom multi-license package, if your company, school, or organization has different requirements or needs to install the software on a larger number of workstations.

How to transfer Projects to a second computer

Installing WebSite X5 on another computer does not automatically transfer your existing Projects.

Projects are stored locally on the computer where they were created. To continue working on the same Project from another computer, you need to:

• export the Project from the original computer as a compressed .IWZIP file;
• transfer the .IWZIP file to the second computer;
• import the file into WebSite X5.

#tip - Important: Projects stored on different computers are not synchronized automatically. Changes made on one computer are not applied to the copy stored on the other. To always work on the latest version, you need to export and transfer the .IWZIP file again after each work session.
