WebSite X5 Evo and Pro

Managing bookings through phone calls, emails, and messages can be time-consuming. You need to check availability, reply to requests, and keep your schedule constantly up to date.

Reservio is an online booking service that lets you organize appointments and events and accept bookings through the web. Thanks to the Reservio Object, you can integrate the booking system directly into a page of your WebSite X5 website, allowing customers to check availability and book online.

To get started, configure your booking system in Reservio, obtain the HTML code provided by the service, and paste it into the Reservio Object.

Before you begin

To follow this guide, you will need:

  • a Reservio account;
  • services, events, schedules, and any staff members already configured in Reservio;
  • the Reservio Object installed in WebSite X5;
  • a page on your website dedicated to bookings.

The Reservio Object is designed to integrate an already configured booking system into your website. Services, availability, staff, and all other booking settings must be managed directly from your Reservio account.

What you can display on your website

Reservio allows you to embed:

  • the complete booking website;
  • a single service;
  • an event;
  • a staff member's profile.

This allows you either to present all available booking options or to direct visitors straight to a specific booking.

How to get the code for the complete booking system

To display the entire booking website on your page:

  1. Sign in to your Reservio account.
  2. Open Online Booking > Setup > Get bookings.
  3. Click Get iframe.
  4. Set the width and height of the window that will contain the booking system.
  5. Copy the entire generated HTML code.

You do not need to modify or understand the code: simply copy it and paste it into the Reservio Object.

How to get the code for a service, an event, or a staff member

You can also configure the booking system to display a specific offering directly.

  1. Open the Calendar tab.
  2. Click Create new.
  3. Select Booking link.
  4. Choose the service, event, or staff member you want to display.
  5. Click Share to open the sharing options.
  6. Select the option to generate an iframe.
  7. Set the dimensions of the window.
  8. Copy the entire generated HTML code.

If you offer individual services, Reservio also lets you assign a specific staff member to the selected service.

How to insert Reservio into WebSite X5

After copying the code, you can insert it into the page dedicated to bookings.

  1. Open your Project in WebSite X5.
  2. If you have not already done so, go to Step 3 - Sitemap and create a page, for example called "Bookings".
  3. Go to Step 4 - Pages and open the page you have just created.
  4. Drag the Reservio Object into the Page Layout Grid.
  5. Double-click the Object to open its settings.
  6. Paste the entire code copied from Reservio into the available field.
  7. Click OK to confirm.
  8. Open the Preview to perform an initial check of the page.

The Reservio Object does not require any additional settings: it uses the code generated directly by the service.

How to publish and test the page

Unlike some other booking services, Reservio does not require you to specify the address of the page where the code has been inserted. Once the Object has been configured, you can publish the website and test the booking system directly.

  1. Go to Step 5 - Export.
  2. Publish your website online.
  3. Open the page containing the Reservio Object in your browser.
  4. Select a service or event.
  5. Choose an available date and time.
  6. Complete a test booking.

During the test, check that:

  • the booking system loads correctly;
  • all expected services or events are displayed;
  • you can select an available date and time;
  • all the steps required to complete the booking are available;
  • no content is cut off;
  • the page works correctly on both desktop and mobile devices.

If the size of the embedded window is not suitable for the displayed content, return to Reservio, generate the code again using different width or height values, and replace the code in the Reservio Object.

What to do if Reservio is not displayed

If the booking system does not appear on the page or does not work correctly:

  • make sure you have copied the entire code generated by Reservio;
  • check that you have not accidentally modified or deleted part of the code;
  • make sure the code has been pasted into the Reservio Object;
  • publish the website again to upload the latest changes;
  • reload the page in your browser;
  • try opening the page with a different browser or device;
  • generate the code again in Reservio and replace the one currently used.

Customer account access

For security reasons, the embedded booking system does not allow customers to sign in to their Reservio account or create a new one.

To perform these actions, customers must open the original booking website created with Reservio. However, they can book services, appointments, and events directly from your website page.

Ready to use it on your website? Install the Reservio Object now – it's free.
